I always thought that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
But I still got proven wrong. Sometimes things don’t work out that way. Things don’t go the way you anticipate. They crash and resound loud, and take you by surprise. They alter their direction, and illustrate a perfect perversion of what you thought you might end up seeing. The only way it all makes sense, it’s all given worth, is if you can find a phrase, if you can bring out a collection of words you hand picked whilst the hope was still in blossom… In all its glory, and when its colours blinded you, for you thought it to be all true. And perhaps you were right.
And perhaps I am wrong. But I gave up on singing that song, and now the melody is only fragments, broken off chips from the past, from clips of quavers and semi-breves aligned that were ephemeral, simply not made to last. You can close your eyes tight, and kid yourself into believing you can still hear that far fetched tune… but that would lead you no where. And you wouldn’t know where you were headed to. Life’s tough when you think of letting the words flow, and yet halt when you remember that no one wants to know… that no one needs to care, for those ideals and petty thoughts that you entertain yourself with. Because talking only becomes conversation when the other person cares. And I am not going to allow this to escalate to that morbid and self-inflicted nightmare. Cut the strings that bind my mind, and perhaps then I’ll see what’s supposedly worthy in this life. No matter what you say (when you’re not busy with others of course) and no matter what they do, I can’t hide the fact that these two men have broken all the pieces I’d thought I’d collected and placed together. I spent ages, years… collecting and putting together this puzzle, bound my thoughts and ideals, ideologies and arguments, and conclusions… conclusions to what inclusion really meant. To what message I had really intended to send.  And in the end nothing but Illusion. What a shame that star died before it really got to shine. What a shame those dreams died before they really got to be mine.

Wow. This is beautiful with all of your imagery, it makes the concept all the more real. Almost as if the reader is in the background, watching the scene unfold.
